(a) Teachers must rise to the appropriate basic scale indicated on the scale, provided that the employer certifies that the teacher has met the appropriate level of professional standards for secondary school teachers – quality teaching criteria annexed to this agreement. Minimum wage – valid from April 1, 2020 The minimum wage has been increased to $18.90 as of April 1, 2020. Anyone who currently pays an hourly rate below the new minimum wage rate will automatically be increased to $US 18.90 per hour from April 1, 2020. The rates printed in collective agreements will only change when the current collective agreements expire and a new collective agreement is concluded. The collective agreement (TC) for employees of higher education institutions regulates the salary structure of scientific and artistic staff. All employees are added to a particular employment group, depending on the nature of the activities agreed in the employment contract. This classification is carried out by the Directorate of Higher Education on the basis of the qualifications available. For each employment group, a gross monthly salary is defined that is not allowed. The actual salary of a scientific or artistic collaborator is negotiated between the rectorate and the employee concerned. The working time of teaching and research staff in the Fachhochschulen is defined in the respective employment contracts according to the rules of private law. The right to leave is based on the Leave Act and is 30 working days (five weeks) for a period of service of less than 25 years; it increases to 36 working days after 25 years of service. (d) teachers entering an HPTSA school have the right to choose either the terms of transfer and relocation of the agreement, or other transfer and relocation arrangements or subsidies that may be offered from time to time by the Ministry of Education and from which they could benefit, but not both.
At the end of a continuous service of at least three years in one or more HPTSA schools, a teacher has access to the transfer and distance provisions of this agreement when moving from that school class to another apprenticeship position in a public or integrated school.
