After securing a few massive victories for Queensland Health AWU members last year, having implemented protected social conflict actions, we are working as hard as we can to finalise the agreement so that it can be accused of a full staff vote. In the coming weeks, a copy of the proposed final agreement will be released and/or published on ForGov`s website. On that date, additional information on the terms of the agreement, the electoral process and the timetable will also be provided. A vote is scheduled for the end of March, early April. As in our first term, the government negotiates in good faith to reach agreements that provide fair and fair wages and conditions. While there is no guarantee as to when Queensland Health will be put to a vote, the AWU hopes that this process will be completed by March or April. The AWU will do everything in its power to ensure that this vote takes place as quickly as possible. The Palaszczuk government is currently negotiating a series of new collective agreements for the public sector with public sector unions. Whether through allocation, ongoing negotiations or a combination of the two, workers benefit from an increase of at least 2.5% on top of their current rates.
When QLD Health made its first bid in September of last year, it took no real action on many EEA members` issues. It was only when thousands of AWU members gathered across the state, took action and demanded a better offer that QLD Health finally came to the table with a better offer, including backfilling, moral harassment and health and safety measures in the workplace. The State Government`s 2015 Certified Agreement (Basic Agreement) expires this year. This agreement includes terms and conditions of employment for you and other staff of your agency. In accordance with the government`s public sector wage policy, it is expected that employees of the basic agreement will receive a one-time payment for the resolution of negotiations through a certified agreement. This page contains information about the agreement, the ballot paper and a list of your agency contacts.
